Stranded by Candlelight
Coming December 15, 2026—click here to preorder!
Charlotte Allen intends to marry to displease her parents—and this is her last chance.
Lottie plans to spend her life in flights of fancy, far from society’s rules and the duke her parents have chosen. In search of a last adventure before her betrothal, she finds herself trapped in a magical manor that’s set on matchmaking her with an insufferably boring army officer. Lieutenant-Colonel James Seton may not be the Byronic hero she imagined, but at least he doesn’t have a title . . . and he’s honour-bound to marry her to save their reputations. That’s a little romantic, at least.
Plagued by a pragmatic fairy godmother who thinks there’s more to life than Gothic novels and a charming genie with schemes of his own, Lottie and James must solve a series of challenges to escape the manor. But when she learns who James really is, her obsession with romance leads her down a dangerous path. If she cannot uncover what is truly important—in marriage and in life—she might find herself trapped by something far worse than an arranged marriage.
Stranded by Candlelight, inspired by Sense and Sensibility, is a standalone cosy fantasy novella set at Christmastime. It is part of The Candlelit Tales, a collection of seasonal historically-inspired fantasy novellas featuring sweet romance. Each story is written by a different author and can be enjoyed in any order.

UTRB
Tentatively coming in 2027!
My debut novel is a Beauty and the Beast reimagining set in Regency England with highwaymen and a dash of magic.
Originally inspired by my own experience with anxiety, UTRB (full title to be revealed) has become an emotional, character-driven exploration of social and relationship anxiety, forgiveness of oneself and others, and seeing the magic in every moment, however inconvenient.
My heroine, Jacinta, is an unconventional Belle who isn’t particularly pretty, struggles with anxiety, and looks for validation in all the wrong places.
Some things you’ll find in UTRB
- A musical bookworm of a heroine
- A handsome but bitter highwayman and his crew
- The beauty of the present moment
- Finding your worth in who God made you to be
- Learning to forgive—yourself and others
